Chipotle Mac

A smoky, spicy mac with chipotle peppers.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the farfalle pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until golden.
  4. Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add the cheddar cheese, minced chipotle peppers, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Combine the cooked farfalle pasta with the cheese sauce, mixing well to coat all the pasta.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Transfer the macaroni and cheese into a greased baking dish, then sprinkle the panko mixture evenly over the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your spicy chipotle cheddar mac and cheese!
